Education
Our education unit continues to promote and implement te reo revitalisation and whanau development initiatives such as wananga reo and the collection of Hauraki stories and kupu.
Whanau Development
Whanau Development continues to focus on the growth of its full time managed care contract which sees the Board by order of the Family Court receive into its care mokopuna of Hauraki who would otherwise have remained in the custody of Childrens and Young Persons Service. We areis also involved in the Social Worker in Schools programme, provide budgeting services for whanau in need and have targeted programmes for our tamariki and rangatahi. Much of our work involves coordinating families and external agencies to ensure that Maori children in or belonging to the Hauraki rohe are nurtured and protected.
