Housing

Our housing portfolio is modest. We continue to manage and maintain kaumatua housing in Paeroa and are exploring opportunities and initiatives to make affordable housing accessible to our people.

Tourism

Tourism is identified as a key growth industry for the Coromandel Peninsula . The Board is working with various agencies and groups to scope the opportunities available for the Board and Hauraki Maori to get into the business of tourism in the Hauraki rohe and to do so in a way that maintains the integrity of who we are.

Radio

The Board is the licence holder for Te Reo Irirangi O Pare Hauraki or Nga Iwi FM our local Iwi radio station. Nga Iwi FM was established in 1990 and is managed by a 6 member board and Station Manager. The principle goal of Nga Iwi FM is to increase the use of Te Reo Maori me ona tikanga in the Hauraki rohe, to keep people up to date with local news and events and to increase its commercial viability.

Currently Nga Iwi FM broadcasts on the 99.5 and 92.2 FM band to the greater Hauraki region including Paeroa, Thames , Thames coast, Waihi, Ngatea, Hauraki Plains, Te Aroha, Kaiaua, Maramarua, Coromandel and the Bombays.
